Sara Berman, MD, PhD

University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, 2020

Although I had a great time in the Midwest during medical school, I’m loving being back on the East coast for residency. I went to college in the Philly suburbs (go Haverford!) and am having a great time getting reacquainted with the city. When I’m not at the hospital, I enjoy reading, hiking, and trying out lots of different Philly brunch spots.  My academic interests include cognitive and movement disorders. My research thus far has involved using neuroimaging methods to examine the interplay between traditional Alzheimer’s pathology and vascular disease in the pathogenesis of cognitive decline. I am excited to expand my research to include additional experience with the modalities of biomarkers and genetics, as well as study movement-based diseases. Ultimately, I hope to pursue a career in academic medicine.
